| Anuraeopsis fissa is characterized by a special membranaceous organ (WEBER organ, arrowheads) in the gap between the dorsal and ventral plates , which is a special aid for carrying the eggs.(2) |

| Anuraeopsis fissa is a plankton species; here under the coverslide together with Trachelomonas verrucosa and Gonium pectorale. Sometimes the animals are colonized by sessile euglenoid flagellates, e.g. Colacium sp. (2). |
