Adineta vaga var. rhomboidea, dorsoventral view. Focal plane on the rostrum lamella (see right image below). (1)

Adineta vaga var. rhomboidea, three images of the anterior part of the animal. Left image: dorsal view of the head region and rostrum lamella. Two cavities on the rostrum (arrows). Right image: crop of the above image: head in optical median section. There is a pore at the base of the rostrum lamella (arrow). Lower image: head of the same specimen, Obj. 100x. Similar structures have also been found in A. steineri and A. vaga major (1)

Adineta vaga var. rhomboidea; two aspects of the head with the prehensile apparatus constisting of rakes with 5 U-hooks on each side. (1)

Adineta vaga var. rhomboidea; head, lateral view, optical median section; focus plane on the dorsal antenna. (1)

Adineta vaga var. rhomboidea; in contrast to another morphotype of A. rhomboidea (2) this morphotype has a foot with long tapering spurs. No interspace between spurs (1)
